Interview:
What is the spirit? A complex combustion of cosmic energy intertwined with the body. My definition of the spirit could also define “music”, as music is a complex organization of energy, effecting our molecules and manipulating our reactions. It’s a beautiful catalyst, enhancing our emotional awareness and secretly touching places undiscovered. The spiritual significance of music lies in this area. Once we become emotionally aware of ourselves, our emotional intelligence causes us to have a greater understanding of how we define “ourselves” against something greater than us: something cosmic, something spiritual. This emotional awareness can almost on a quantum level, lead to healing or even the opposite, self-destruction. Music allows us to discover “meaning”; it translates a clear way of subjective understanding. Meaning is all part of understanding “the self” and even “God” making one spiritually lifted. There is no clear answer to suggest solely why music is spiritually significant, but in the words of Plato, “music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for education of its virtue”.
“[Music is] a beautiful catalyst, enhancing our emotional awareness and secretly touching places undiscovered. The spiritual significance of music lies in this area.”
