Interview:

The importance of keeping a strong dark spirit in all my music has always been there, and especially during the last ten years. This was the main reason why I created my “brain-child” band Crest Of Darkness. Everything from the music to the lyrics, the image of me and the band through pictures, live-performances, and interviews, are all taking part in one big project; the totality called Crest Of Darkness.

First of all, I am looking at myself as an artist presenting what I would like to call “dark art”. Don’t misunderstand me as I don’t take myself very seriously. I am not a missionary man, but I do try to be honest, and tell people what things are like in my world. I am not like most people, and I have never been. It feels good to know that there are other people out there sharing my passion for the beautiful world of darkness. A world where no limits exists; a world where we can all become gods. Sometimes this world is quite frightening, but also a world where I can find strength and power to do the most extraordinary things in my so-called “real life”. Crest Of Darkness expresses the darkest side of my soul. It has never been important for me to stay among the most extreme bands. On the other hand, I have never been afraid of shocking, or acting extreme in some way if it feels right for me. It is most important for me to be honest, and feel that I can stand for the decisions I am taking. Normally I don’t find any pleasure in harming others, but if someone deserve it, I must admit that it gives me a big satisfaction to see this person suffer.

I believe in Satan, I believe in magic, I believe in dark forces of nature, and I believe in “survival of the fittest”. I do not believe in good and evil as something you can define as a universal truth. I believe that everything is up to mankind, and we are making the rules because we are the real gods. With all these strong beliefs and thoughts in my mind; I am leading my own creature called Crest Of Darkness as best I can on this earth. Sometimes I have a strange feeling that Crest Of Darkness is living its own life, and I am loosing the control, but I am not afraid of this dark spirit! I am worshipping it!
