Interview:

Music is uniquely powerful in that it can deliver a message lyrically while having the ability to further manipulate emotions through it’s melodic movements, harmonies, and rhythms. This extraordinary amalgamate has power to nurture and to heal, or to oppress and to hurt. Studies have shown that certain kinds of music cause plants to flourish; others to perish. People actually have a physical reaction called thrills, that little chill you get when a piece of music moves you, to music more than any other art form. Think about how many times you will hear a song and find yourself strangely comforted by it, because you associate it with better times. The Bible tells us that Heaven is filled with music and that it plays an important role in worship. Likewise, of the fallen angel Lucifer it is said “the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.” [Ezekiel 28:13, KJV]. This implies that music plays a powerful role in the battle for our souls. I have always felt a great responsibility in regard to the music Angelrage makes, because I know the effect music has on my own life, and because I feel we should use our talents to try and make the world a better place for all. The success we had with “Fight The Devil” made it imperative that our new CD, “Dysangellion”, cover a wide range of socially relevant and emotionally charged topics, as well as the usual fire and brimstone Revelation inspired carnage people expect from us, with the ultimate goal being to challenge the listener to think about the lyrics, what they mean, and maybe want to learn more about what inspired them.
