Roger shares his knowledge of the Native American flute by giving talks at schools, social events, and provides annual performances for the World Music Class at Walla Walla University, and flute-making workshops at the Grand Ronde Reservation in Grand Ronde, Oregon.

We know that music transcends all language barriers, ages, and ethnical groups. I believe music also has the ability to heal, inspire, and comfort. There exists a tune or melody to enrich or soothe the entire spectrum of human emotions. In essence, we are momentarily allowed to tap into something of an altered state. I have seen grown women cry, crying children pause in awe as their tears dry, and people of all ages wiping goose bumps from their arms because of music. We all begin life listening to the rhythm of the heart beat, the ebb and flow of life’s blood, the song of our mother’s womb. Perhaps we are all seeking to recapture that comforting voice of the womb in the music we choose to embrace in life.
