Interview:

As a band we are constantly receiving e-mails from people sharing how our music has impacted them in ways we could have never expected. Songs that are written about everyday things for us can connect with a listener in a way that we could never had personally related. For example, just recently we received a message from a girl who said she and her friends were using one of our songs to cope with the loss of a friend. One of our songs reminded them of their friend and it helped them mourn her loss. We have received letters from other people telling us that our music has helped them gain control, and come to terms with their anorexia, kept them from committing suicide, or help them realize God’s love for them, despite how they may feel about themselves. Music connects with people. I am not sure how, or why, but it connects in a way that we can’t connect as people. It reaches those that are isolated from others and have shut down from the outside world. Music helps us cope with and express things that we can’t deal with on our own. This is why I feel music is very spiritual significant. I feel it has a way of connecting with the human spirit in a deeper way than any other form of man-made expression. Music, in all its forms, connects with people on an emotional and spiritual level like nothing else I have seen. It moves us to not only think about what is being said in the lyrics but also to feel it. Music seems to break down walls that we have built up, and allows us to connect with God in ways that we wouldn’t normally connect. I have seen it personally and have seen it in others. In that way, music is very significant to us spiritually.
