Interview:
I strongly believe that the first form of music was in the chanting of the first humans, as a means of prayer or praise to their gods. As such one can say that music and spirituality co-existed since their early beginnings, and have been evolving together ever since. Maybe one might think that atheists, do not include spirituality in their music, I think the contrary. Atheists might have revolted against their families’ creed, and as such find it easier for them not to believe in any sort of higher entities, but they still want to leave a mark after they die. I believe this can happen best with their music. Their memories live as long as there are people who are willing to play their music, or are into their music, or can assimilate themselves to it. In my personal opinion, I’d rather believe in some sort of god or gods, as I would live a more stress-free life. However, the advances in modern sciences today do not leave much room for any religious belief. So, once more I want to express my view on the subject; being that music and spirituality co-exist for the simple reason that it’s the only way we can really live forever.
