Interview:

Music has been a part of the fabric of life for a very, very long time. It can wound, it can heal, it can anger and it can soothe. But most of all, it can help us to remember why we’re alive. When music is at its best, it awakens that sleeping part of us that still hears the faint echo of Eden. Maybe it’s been buried by pain, or bitterness or even by just the mindless cycle of the everyday, but it’s there somewhere, still waiting for a melody that reminds us of the Creator and His love. Ironically, it can even happen when the person who wrote the melody or singing it hasn’t quite met Him yet. One of my favourite bits in the Bible happens just after the Last Supper. It says that after they’d eaten, Jesus and the disciples sang a hymn and then went out to the Mount of Olives and of course, to the kiss that would lead Him to the cross and the burden of all that we’ve done. I’ve always wondered what song they sang. And one day, I’ll ask Him face to face.
