Interview:
We can summarize music in just one word: pleasure. Pleasure is inseparable from music. If there is no pleasure, then there is no music, and the opposite may also be true. Music allows the listener and the musician to go further spiritually. This is the search towards artistic beauty in sound no matter what the style. The musician translates their emotions to share them through music, while the listener collects these moments, and transforms them with their own emotions. There is a strong belief of sharing in music, and this sharing takes part in the pleasure of making and listening to music. That is why there is not a “good” or a “bad” music. Only feelings the music creates can be “good” or “bad”. The music is a “spiritual lift” that channels emotions and thoughts to a succession of melodies, rhythms, and sounds. Metal music is particularly powerful. This power transcends the musician who gives power to the listener, who then returns their own power to the musician. We can see this when we perform live on stage! This is a kind of ceremony; the band is the master and the public are the disciples. I am an unbeliever, but I can conceive that believers see our music as a form of ritual.
“Music allows the listener and the musician to go further spiritually.”
