Interview:
Words can be powerful, yet limited by the speaker’s ability to communicate, and the listener’s ability to understand. Music transcends those boundaries. Music carries within it, the full range of human emotion, unfiltered and unencumbered. Its vibrations call to us, resonating to the same within us – reminding us of our humanity and our divinity at once.
Music has always been a river of transcendence, transformation, and power for me. When I am unable to express, in words, Music speaks. Music is the friend who takes me deep into the ground of my personal human experience, high into the furthest reaches of my larger Self – what I know as God alive in me – and then wide open into the world of Consciousness existing as form. This Consciousness allows me to experience, within the music, being a woman, a man, a child, rich, poor, joyful, sorrowful, trustworthy, deceitful, high, and low. To put it simply, I can become Steve Stevens rippin’ it with Billy Idol for the span of three minutes or so! Music heals us. Rhythm is our remedy – the foundation on which we build the temples of our bodies – the houses of Spirit in the material world. Music is as essential as the air we breathe – an integral Power.
