Interview:
When God created humans, He created us in His image. He created us as creators, thinkers, lovers, artists, and musicians. The role of music is something that connects us back to God. Music comes from the soul, and it connects to the soul. The gift of sound and melody came to us in the form of worship, and as humans we love the sound of good melody and deep lyrics. Together melody and thought create something that echoes our longing to be with God, even if the song itself seems to be about something so simple and irrelevant. Christians aren’t the only ones who feel this connection to music. Humans were created by God, and therefore, all of us have the ability to feel this powerful spiritual connection with music, whether it is a good connection or bad connection, it is present in all of us. I truly believe that in the beginning, when the first note was sung in the Heavens, the human soul awoke and sang in harmony. After all, music is really just a preview of the glorious Heaven that comes after our death. Our choice on Earth is whether to sing a song that longs to be there, or sing a song that runs away.
