Interview:
Music is religion, a medium of sacred exploration that alters consciousness, and allows us to peer just over the abyss, glimpsing beyond the banality of everyday existence. Life, like art, is a work in progress. My appreciation and expectations from a musical experience continue to evolve. Drinking to Celtic Frost, smoking to Neurosis, thrashing to Sacrifice, raging to Darkthrone, tripping to Pink Floyd, having sex to Dead Can Dance, or meditating to Benedictine chants are a few examples of the soundtrack in my church. I want to discover and create works that transform the soul. Each album I release has one purpose: to bring about an apocalypse, be it personal or metaphoric. I attempt to experience each experience, and be receptive yet discriminating to it’s influence, answerable only to the voice of creation. I am a seer, a middleman between the abstract sounds of mind and the tangible final product. As empires continue to fall, we need to lose our taste for ignorance and complacency, and replace them with a thirst for knowledge and experience, and thus experiment further in the world science of sound.
