Interview:

Music has always been a medium in which the spirit professes its most intimate feelings and desires. Sadly, music has fallen into the hands of those who only fool themselves and turn this gift into mediocrity. The recent trends of music have left me disgusted, whether Hardcore or Metal, due to the fact that there is no longer a spiritual bond within the artist and their art. Fashion has replaced the voice of the soul, and music has found its demise. I was once asked by a fellow co-worker what music meant to me, and I responded that music was simply my worship, my offering of thanks for the wonders God has granted me. This is why I don’t understand when Christians say they do not consider their band a ministry because they are not good examples. The Bible instructs us to be fishermen for God and to be ready in and out of season. So if Christians in a band do not want to be considered a Christian band, then they are simply not Christian. No Christian is ever fit to do the work of God, and we do not do the work of God, it is God Himself who uses us to do His work. We can only be thankful for His decision to use us. So anyone who thinks it is them who does the work is not who they claim to be. To the secular scene, it seems that the louder you scream out blasphemies the “cooler” you are. When confronted, they will say that they only shout blasphemies because it is part of “being Metal”. Father Seraphim Rose said it best, that these people who cry out “anti-Christ”, are actually professing their deep hunger for the Truth. So how can we interfere in God’s plan to feed these spirits? This is what Christian music is all about: to be a slave for those who hunger and a slave to Jesus Christ who died for my salvation.

“Music [is] simply my worship, my offering of thanks for the wonders God has granted me.”
