Interview:
Music has the ability to capture the attention and influence its listeners. Not just physically, but spiritually as well. There is a feeding of the soul from the message of the music, in Christian as well as secular. Music is very spiritual in nature. It can subtly take you to the deepest part of your walk in Christ or encourage you to move in a better direction. Music can play a big part in helping us connect with God. Even though a person might not be tuning in to the lyrics, they still penetrate the subconscious. Music can be used as a means to deliver a message. It’s all around us. Walk into a shopping mall or store and you will hear music over the intercom system. That music can subtly influence you to “take your time no need to hurry just hang out and shop”. Or if you are sitting at your favorite fast food chain, the music might get you to eat quicker so you don’t hang out. Global Warning and many other Christian artists have used music as a tool to deliver the message of hope. The stories in songs can touch those who are going through similar scenarios. They can provide encouragement, conviction, and discipleship to the listeners. We want our listeners to not only be entertained, but also to take something away with them that can change their lives in a positive way.
“There is a feeding of the soul from the message of the music.”
