“A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION WITH MUSIC”
We all grow and evolve, whether we see it, believe it, want it or not. I think artists of all genres are usually looking for answers or are reflecting in some way on why they and other people do things. As a songwriter, I believe we are all bards on a mission. We are looking to solve problems, ask questions, and, we hope, evolve. The power of love and forgiveness itself comes from “owning” your own power to love and forgive yourself first. This is the quest to transform the way we see all things in life. Life will always present challenges, so I see negative experiences always as an opportunity to transform something about myself; then I can share that painful challenge as an insight with others, using specific words and the emotion to convey the honest message. This introspection always takes me deeper into my own life and allows my honesty to shine through.
I’ve seen that setting forth a specific intention when writing my songs always creates a strength in the foundation, one that allows me to sit inside a realm of a focused world, bringing a deeply emotional and real tone to a song. This type of writing experience can create real magic. I know that when I am moved by a song, it means that the artist has taken me on a multidimensional journey. They have told me their truth, their raw perspective, and shared their life. This gives me an opportunity to see through a new window that can leave me open to connect with me, how I feel, what I think and what I might believe about a situation. I am then left with an experience that has changed my life forever in some way.
Why do we remember songs and their lyrics? I believe music attaches its DNA to our hearts and connects to our life, causing a shift at the cellular level. We are then in the healing journey of a song, even if it is for just one moment. This power allows transformation and goes deep into our soul; it lodges itself in our body, mind, and spirit, forever. This musical artistic journey heals, and, like magic, it leads us through to love and forgiveness.
