Interview:
I believe the spiritual significance of music is to make ready our hearts to accept the word of God, and not to entertain like worldly music. Spiritual music should have reverence towards Jesus Christ. David, in Psalms 95:2, tells us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. I believe this is the key to the kind of impact godly music should have upon listeners. Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16 challenged us to speak to ourselves in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Paul also invites us to let God’s word dwell in us richly in all wisdom. Teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. We should sing with the grace of God in our hearts. With this in mind, our hearts are in harmony with God’s standards. David said several times in the Psalms that we should sing unto the Lord new songs. Songs that have been offered to Satan or others should never be revised to sing to a holy God. The kind of music that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father will lead youth, men, and women to true confession and repentance. Subsequently, spiritual music will help believers live in harmony with God. Then we can enter Heaven when Jesus returns to claim His children.
