In its essence, music lets you be. Just be. It’s a spiritual vehicle that allows us to let go of thoughts and worry and just… be… present. Why? Well, this is the interesting part. When you give yourself up to the music and dance, you have the option to become one with the music and the universe. Dancing is the body’s pronunciation of the music. We cease to look for reason, meaning and purpose, and begin to feel them instead. The music and the steps; it all makes sense to you, but you could still only describe it as a feeling. Like being in love, you don’t need proof, nor can you prove it; you just know that we are in love because you feel it so clearly that there’s no room for doubt.

This is why music is to be found all over the world and throughout all human history; it serves to “unlock” us. Thus, the ancient Greek philosophers referred to music as “sculptures in the air”, “The highest form of art”, “and the one you cannot touch”. One must remember this was before both written and recorded music; when music could only be appreciated in the moment it was played. So, we’re back at the main point again: Creation, in moment, with no past or future over-shadowing the bliss of being one with the music, the universe, and everything.
