Interview:
Music causes such an intense emotional reaction in people, and really, why does it happen? When you break it down, music is only frequencies of sound waves moving through air in a fashion to stimulate a bunch of hairs in one’s inner air that then translate to a storm of electrical impulse’s in one’s brain. I believe the fact that such a basic physical thing can provoke an emotional response, whether it’s feeling happy, violent, sexy, or cool beyond the ability of words to describe, is your everyday proof that you have a soul. Something intangible inside you responds to music by-passing where you live or who you think you are. Despite the effort made to put images, tastes, products to music, at the end of the day it’s the music itself which makes you forget you have flesh. People loving such varied music is further proof of that. People having different tastes in music is like different Loa speaking to Voudoun. Unless you like Radiohead, in which case you have no soul.
“Something intangible inside you responds to music bypassing where you live or who you think you are.”
