Interview:
“OUR VOICES ARE AN INSTRUMENT IN THE HANDS OF LOVE”
Music’s language is pure, clear, and sincere because it is able to penetrate into our souls and give shape to our thoughts and deepest feelings, like love and forgiveness. Love and forgiveness are sides of the same coin. There is no love without forgiveness and forgiveness is a noble act of love. Through music we’ve learnt to open our hearts and to accept the beauty of life in harmony with all the joys and all the pains.
Music is universal, and communicates not only important values such as solidarity, brotherhood, and peace, but it can also be a tool against any kind of violence, hatred, and negativity. In fact, the harmony of its notes can also teach us that we are able to live in tune with everything that surrounds us. The differences are not important for music because often these are at the heart of the greatest musical compositions and the soul of the greatest singers. Music is able to open doors to new realities, it can be there when you need it, it can be your voice when you don’t know what to say, it can make you dream, escape, fly, think, or it can simply help us to have more self awareness.
Both love and forgiveness are connected to music as a single chord that is able to touch those who can listen and who have the simplicity of a smile and a glance. Forgiveness is in the contradictions we encounter around the world, it is in the sad helplessness of not being able to change anything about the injustices suffered by men, women, and children. Yet the true power of forgiveness is to be aware of it and not to be indifferent. Forgiveness is a sign of humanity and a true act of love. We feel all of this because we are reflected through our audience, we get involved, confused, we change with them, we are them and we hope they can be us in the moment our music touches their hearts. We are one, and it is at that moment that love takes its highest value, in participation and union. Our experience is life itself, the stage is our place, our voices are our existence, and it is thanks to this opportunity that we can bring messages of love and forgiveness with enormous responsibility and are careful not to waste it. We will continue to love and forgive without asking for anything in return, because to love and forgive is already being loved and forgiven.
“Both love and forgiveness are connected to music as a single chord.”
