Interview:
Music speaks in a language that everyone can understand. It crosses all religious boundaries and doesn’t care about skin colour. It can be a simple refrain that lifts and carries us away from the dark into the light or a complex crafted arrangement of sonorous soundscapes that strum our heartstrings and wake our emotions. It can be a lifelong journey that starts with a gentle played hum and ends with a cascading orchestra. It can be a personal isolated experience or shared amongst friends, family, or lovers. Music connects us with people all over the world with a same passion and belief. It can bring joy, pain, sorrow or peace. Music is a vibration that is more than just sound. Like a fragrant smell, it holds memories locked deep in our soul. A simple few notes and we can be transported back to that very moment in time. So music is also magic. It contains energy and life. From the vibration of a beautiful crafted instrument to the pulsing of iPod earphones, we can all experience and feel that energy; the intention that has gone into the heart, body, and soul of the music; the very breath of the singer immortalised forever in time. And the silence, yes the silence in the music is the purest sound of all. For it is there to remind us of the true spiritual significance of music and what we all become. Love.
